We created and opened Chobham Adventure Farm in 2016. Bean finished his involvement with the London Olympics in 2012 and wanted to create an active facility for children that gave the whole family the ability to enjoy and learn through doing and experiencing various types of play. Having grown up on a farm, there was also a great opportunity for many generations to come to learn and interact with numerous animals, big and small. And of course once hungry, provide some healthy alternatives for the kids to enjoy some great healthy food – no burgers and processed nuggets here!
As part of the build he ensured we are as sustainable and carbon neutral as possible – harvesting rainwater off the roof to flush the loos, using recycled disposable food packaging, and use the suns rays on solar panels on the animal barn to power us on our journey.
We are super proud of our healthy food options, and have 3 full time chefs, Mario, Sam & Katja, who prepare fresh, wholesome, homemade food every day. Bee is our pastry chef and makes all of our yummy cakes! We work closely with local suppliers to ensure freshness and seasonal produce and support our local community.
We also cater for those with allergies, especially for those with nut, gluten and dairy intolerances.
Our animal barn is full of both small and large animals. We are not a working farm with hundreds of animals, but we have a great variety that you can get up and close and personal to. We offer various times to stroke and interact with the smaller animals, and also have an education room in the animal barn to enable us to link with schools and offer a relevant segment of the curriculum.
Bean has enjoyed testing out all the Adventure Farm has to offer with his family and looks forward to welcoming many more families to the farm.
